Hey everyone,

Not sure if anyone promotes MyUseNet or not but they are one of mymajor sponsors. I noticed that the link in NiftyStats wasn't working so I went to the site and found the following statement....

Dear partners,

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept new clients temporarily due to problems with merchant banks. Please remove your traffic from our site!
Out current merchant bank no longer accept adult content. At this point, best we can do is to accept very small amount of re-bills.
We are currently looking for new merchant banks who will accept us, but it can take few weeks or more. Currently many banks went out of business or bought by larger banks and they forcing small banks to use their rules.
We will send you invitation when we back to our normal production operations that you can resume your partnership with us.
Sorry for this bad news.
Hopefully we will work with you again.

MyUsenet.net Support Team.

No email indicating there were issues and it appears that there issues started around October 20th. Not a great way to do business.

Heads-up if you have any amount of traffic heading to them.

Cheers!
Chris

Basically the company that owns Myusenet chose to go out and get their own merchant account so they could process their own credit card payments. The financial institution that holds their merchant account decided that porn just isn't a good thing and threatened to cancel their account if they didn't change their business model.

The easiest thing for them to do is use a third party processor like CCBill/EPoch/Verotel but not sure if it's something they're going to do.

In the meantime I am scrambling to pull their links. The one thing they did right is any traffic I am sending, they bounce back to my own site so at least they're not stealing the traffic.

Yeah, there's a number of people who promote them. Talked to a bunch of people on ICQ that I know are promoting.
