Sponsors That Don't Answer Mails

Times are tough, we all know that. So why do some "sponsors" deem it above themselves to answer mail/queries from their affiliates? Are they doing so well they feel they can just ignore folks - even those that are trying hard to promote the sponsor sites? Or just change things on a whim without considering the webmasters who helped (only helped) bring them some success in the first place?

In all tough times people need to work together to get the best possible results. In our industry it seems the fuck you syndrome takes over!

I will not name and shame but might be prepared to if others have similar experiences etc

Come on guys (sponsors), pull your fingers out and work with people to do the best we can!

It's something that i will just NEVER be able to accept. If you run an affiliate program, your very FIRST role is to HELP your affiliates, especially those that actually find the time to contact you (that's rare, believe me!).

On a side note...did you try only by e-mail or through other channels as well? Just saying...sometimes e-mails end up in the spam folder for no reason :)

I agree, more now than ever sponsors don't care or reply to affiliates.

I think the money is so small compared to before that most just gave up, or don't give a shit anymore :(

Small sponsors with good content are the answer. They have MUCH MORE interest in affiliates.

Do you know any small sponsor with good content? uhmmm oh wait... i am one... :D :D :D :D

Okok...sorry :D

Some are probably just not bothering to reply, but I just assume many of them aren't getting the email. Spam blockers, email going to an outdated address, no one checking support addy any more, etc.

Well...it's "ok" if e-mails get into spam folder...but.. not checking the support address? Outdated address? come on...that just shouldn't happen if you are serious about the business.

Hopefully my guys (well girls actually!) at OT are answering emails - if not, first off apologies!! and second email me directly at paul @ onlytease.com and I will get it sorted!!

No reference to you whatsoever Paul! But there are plenty of others, big and small, that are almost impossible to work with. I sometimes wonder why they bothered having an affiliate programme in the first place! They seem to forget that a good affiliate/sponsor relationship is a two way street to make sure that both parties get good results!

So many affiliates just don't produce anymore. I think the bigger programmes are losing interest. The small guys like Paul and the rest of us, obviously still have time to answer anyone who takes the time to write. More and more we are producing our own traffic as are others. Just look at the leg sites that are all over youtube etc. and that should tell you something.

Oddly the bigger sponsors are pretty good, probably as many have dedicated Affiliate Managers/Staff. It's the smaller sites that give the least support - and they are probably the ones that need affiliates the most.

I understand that many sponsors are doing more to generate the own traffic/sales, and can see the reasons why. However it would appear that all this is doing is robbing Peter to pay Paul. It's a vicious circle. We are doing ok, despite sales via affiliates falling, but we would be doing even better if we had both sales streams.

I agree... we just have to work harder nowadays. We have to produce more "interesting" content. Have more revenue streams. And, to be honest, make real world investments with the profit. I buy houses. Bricks and mortar have always done well for me, but porn drives the engine.
