UK Digital Economy Bill

I am surprised this new bill in the UK hasn't received any attention here!

According to this artice

http://www.ynoteurope.com/members-br...cking-twitter/

It's well on it's way to becoming law - and they are now even considering blocking Twitter!!! If this goes through and webmasters at the lower end of the sales scale cannot find an economic method of age verification it's going to have a huge impact. In fact it will probably decimate sites even more that ATVOD did!

This is a scary time! The UK is our second biggest market - only just smaller than the USA in fact - so we cannot afford to lose it!

Such a bunch of idiots... how can they even THINK this is the right solution to educate youngsters about sex?

It's becoming the biggest nanny state around. 1984 is really coming to like in the UK!

A few years ago, I was going to move back to my flat in Swiss Cottage. I went back to blighty, the weather sucked. London was bitchy as hell. But I felt that 1984 thing everywhere. In fact the last time I was in the UK, I got a speeding ticket five minutes from Glasgow airport by a freeking camera. I came back to Toronto, and knocked London on the head, and moved out to my house on the west coast. Watching all this go down, I am pretty pleased I am not in the UK. That place is getting nutty as fuck. Course my neighbours to the south are well up there as well. And they are only forty minutes away from me. Some of my friends live right on that border, literally across the street from the US...no walls, no fences, just trees, grass, maybe cows and a ditch. So it could spill over.
