Holy shit! Well, I think deep down we all knew the porn business is dying, and many niches are especially dying. Seems like the legs/pantyhose/fetish niche is taking a toll on a lot of us.

Really sad to see the tumbleweeds here everyday. :(

Well, I just hope everyone is working on trying to get their businesses to pick up, building traffic, contents, etc.

Kidding about RIP Legweb, this board should be alive forever. Just wanted to know how you thought on your initial reaction if we were to shut down? hehe :P (probably not shocked, after seeing the last couple years of this industry just crash and burn)

I don't want to see it disappear. It seems to come in spurts around here. And when it has those blips, there has been some pretty good information shared. So I check every day to see whats up. Curiously, business is pretty good at the moment.

js, that is great your biz is doing pretty good, any tips for us? was talking to a webmaster yesterday who says the only way to get in good with Google again (after Penguin) is to build new sites.

My biz is a little different from yours because we make content. Not to give too much away because it is working so well, I think the future is in micro billing. A whole lot of really inexpensive options. I am flabbergasted at how they all add up and turn into serious money. Kinda like the check out at Ikea where you finally buy the cheap tea lights that brought you there in the first place.

Biz is just a shell of it's former self, for a number of reasons.

Many of the proven fetish sites, that have been in the biz for years, are leaving the biz or scaling down getting ready to retire. Very little new blood has taken their place. Lost or declining sales on those sites are very difficult to replace.

Combine that with increasing obstacles to generating traffic and it's rather bleak.

Toby, I agree it is bleak in some respects. I think that the days of small guys making money out of traffic have gone. However, content does win in tough times. It is kind of like having gold bricks under the bed. There is always value to good content. Traffic, however, has nothing tangible to fall back on. A few large entities can easily control that. They toss bones out to the traffic rats on gfy and thousands of those guys..particularly in Eastern Europe and asia, add up to enough to pay the electric bills.
I am about to head off to Prague to spend many thousands of dollars to shoot a shitpot of content because it is still profitable.
Longevity plus content on the internet produces its own focussed traffic. And I have been at this 17 years now.
BTW, you should post here more often. I miss your words of wit and wisdom. You still in Texas?
