Server-wide find and replace tool in FTP?
 

Hi, is there anyway you can do a server wide find/replace inside FTP?

I have tons of galleries that are linking to dead programs, I'd like to at least have those link codes replaced with live sites

Anyone know?

I don't think this is possible. You can find and replace inside of files in an SSH client with some voodoo (not sure how). Or you can do something like this...

Use a program like WinSCP and set the file filter to only .html
Download all of your galleries, etc, it'll download html files only.
Use your html editor (like Dreamweaver) and do a massive find and replace.
Upload all html files again.

I just asked my host to do it, and it went through successfully luckily :)

Thanks Steve for your info tho, i really just wanted to avoid having to download all the galleries, i have like 100,000,000 galleries haha
