Default Total Panic In The UK

I can't help but think that UK webmasters have totally panicked over the new ATVOD laws. Boobs one out of FHG galleries, starflashes over pussies, material so soft to promote a harder site it's not worth running.

FFS the laws are strict(ish) for video - but not for images.

Get a grip or you will not be staying in business!

This biz has always over or under reacted to everything. Why change now.

Truthfully, I wish we all had to do that. All over the world. When this online biz first started, that is the way it was and we did better. That was not the only reason, but it is an important one.

This is the way I would like to see things go. I am trying to make my trailers less "gratifying" but still give a good idea of the content. It seems to be working.

Is there any positive sides of that ATVOD law?

What is the downside, geoff? Just the obvious competition from foreign websites? What effect will it have on tubesites?

As far as I know there will be no effect on Tubes, unless of course they are based in the UK.

My point is that putting out "totally soft" promo galleries for a harder (and legal) site is nonsense. It could lead to less sales and that could cause more sites to close. This is especially relevant to sites that do not have a strong personality pushing on the social media channels.

If you took any major brand, say Snickers, took off the promo wrapper and replaced it with another with a plain wrapper that said, "nutty chocolate bar that is actually a Snickers" when you open it - what do you think that will do for sales?

Too many webmasters/models have no idea about marketing.

And yes competition from overseas sites will also be a major issue

I see what you are saying. But that is the way porn used to be sold when I lived in the UK.
