Steady here. Survived The Olympics with only a slight downturn. New site going gang busters. Proves once again that the punters are out there that will pay if you give them high quality stuff they want, and not just recycled crap.

It can't do any harm also that almost everyday a "locker" is closed or restricted. Just wish someone would nail RapidShare now!

It has to happen. Just like in any other business. Commerce wins and will ultimately shit on the obvious criminals. It just amazes me that they have lasted this long. What is really amazing is how much "support" they get on webmaster boards like the zoo and an English board I drop in on sometimes.

Support in what sense? From webmasters? Can't understand the mentality of that from our perspective.

the "support" seems to be either if you are not using them as a marketing "opportunity" you are an idiot. Or the old freedom of the internet thingy. The former being more insidious. Using these vehicles to sell is unforgivable and, I am sure, not profitable. If it is making bank, then these producers are part of the problem and as guilty as the pirates and file lockers. IMHO.

Bit of a complex one this. A real conundrum/Catch22.

Given all of us have the major objective of growing our business, and traffic growth plays a major part in that, then tube sites possibly have a part to play. I think that works if the sites can be trusted, but I appreciate that many can't.

I don't think providing tube videos is a sign of supporting pirates as such, if you can control who gets their hands on them. We haven't offered them yet as a promo tool but we are now getting quite a few requests from established affiliates and so we are very seriously considering it.

Given the continued decline in the number of really good TGP/Directories out there do we really have an option?

tube sites are not the issue they were. The first adopter tube sites were total thieves and have become the biggest players in the biz. Great for them, not good for you. You have to decide which side your bread is buttered.
Tube sites 2.0 have become a marketing vehicle. Not one that has done well for me, but still arguably, a traffic resource.
What burns me, is those who support outright piracy and as I said, make money out of it.
Hell, if I had wanted to do that, I could have done that years ago. Or I could have robbed a bank. Sold crack or heroin. Or any number of other criminal activities that would have "made bank".
However, I am constrained by morality, conscience, and a sense of what is right. I know that is an antiquated philosophy, especially in the "gangsta" world of porn.
But what really bothers me are the guys....like on those board I previously mentioned....who are scratching out the last of what they got and pitching it as a virtue.
You know who they are. They like to post avatars of used to be expensive cars.
sigh.
