Default My Favourite Subject - CCBill

Is it just us or is everyone seeing massive fluctuations in sales - especially affiliate based sites?

Last week was very good until Wednesday then just died. And I mean died. Conversion rates went from 1:375 to 1:3900 in twenty four hours. Now I know this has never been a predictable business but I have never seen daily fluctuations like I see now. Talk about boom or bust.

And another thing. Yesterday was ok. A bit above average in fact, but 90% of my sales came in a 30 minute period, one after the other. Then nothing, nada, zip for over 24 hours. How the fuck can that happen?

Traffic was good, followed normal patterns, so that is not the answer, nor are clicks out.

So what are you all seeing? The same or different?

Cheers

Mine have been all over the place for a while now, I can have best month on ccbill followed by the worst month, if you'd look at my sales on a graph, it'd be pretty funky stuff

The crazy thing is that if you ask CCBill they always say "no problems" when it's fucking obvious that there are! Have you noticed that these things always seem to coincide with the ubiquitous phrase "CCBill are pleased to announce" some new addition? Coincidence?

Do you think this effects rebills in any way? I'm guessing no, since the surfer got past the scrub allready - but it never hurts to ask

We have noticed a rise in failed rebills on our pay sites and similar fall in rebills on our affiliate sites (where of course we don't know if they have failed or just simply cancelled)

Don't know if it's the so called scrub or not. The huge ups and downs in actual sign ups could not possibly be caused by this scrub. It's either something more sinister or simply market conditions.

I don't believe the market conditions theory though. After all you don't see such massive swings in the publics confidence in the economy in a 24 hour period do you?

Anyway we all like a conspiracy theory don't we?

Personally, I don't pay much attention to short term swings in sales. There are just too many factors that can account for them, including random chance.

In general I agree Toby but in CCBill's case they seem to be to error prone yet refuse to accept responsibility for anything/problem.

BTW so far this week is pretty good - except for the horror day LOL!
