Seem to be an almost dailly occurence ...

Twelve years is a pretty good run for a solo site in this biz.

Sucks to see another site go though :(

I know Joanne and her husband really well and this has been on the cards for quite some time. All I can say is that health reasons play a major part. Martin has run a number of "partner" sites, in addition to Joanne's (his wife), and they have been dropping off one by one. He, in response, has been looking to get back into his original career.

It's the old thorny issue of "partners" -

Not delivering the content they promise (even contract to!)
Thinking they can do better on their own
That the grass is greener with another network

But in reality I don't think this one can be put down simply to the downturn in business. And, as it's been said, 12 years is a good run for a solo site!
