Mobile?

Since we have gone flat out mobile, I notice that ten to fifteen per cent of our traffic is coming from portable devices. Kinda covers all basis. Just working on the last cog...full mobile promotion tools.

Do your stats show you whether or not 15% of your sales are coming from that mobile traffic?

I've asked this before and no one can tell me if their mobile surfers are actually buying at a rate that compares to non-mobile traffic.

js69 09-29-2012 07:38 PM

That I can't tell you Toby. I wish I could. But I am confident it will grow as various pads and such become the norm. However our main sites are fully mobile as well as conventional. The potential customer is presented with the format his particular device requires automatically. Its been a huge amount of work and transcoding as you might gather...a real freeking pain in the ass and there is lots to do in the future considering we haven't shot still pictures for years so are hugely video heavy.

On our experience, mobile traffic doesn't convert unless the join procedure is totally mobile friendly. So letting them pay on their mobile billing is the way to go. A long form to be filled in (such as the CCBIll one) doesn't convert at all.

We redirect all our mobile traffic to an affiliate solution, made specifically for them...at least we get a decent amount of sales that way.

Unless....is there a CCBIll mobile-friendly join form out there?

Good choice to get mobile tours. I do very well with Nasty Dollars mobile

I have been redirecting mobile traffic to TopBucks on blogs. Any other suggestions? Like...
1) How to create a mobile site
2) How to redirect to the mobile site
3) Can billers (ccbill) take the sign ups and look nice to the end users?

jscott 09-30-2012 05:15 PM

Good idea Steve, I've also wondered about this.

Like, what's the mentality of ppl going to porn sites via smart phones, and what is needed on mobile sites to convert these potential customers. This not my expertise at all, so I'd love to hear from somebody experienced in mobile porn sites.

Does it convert mobile users? Because my main concern is based on my own experience...whenever i'm browsing with my mobile, if a sites asks for that much data...i simply move on.
A great way to get people subscribe is to let them be billed on their mobile credit, that way all they have to do is just a click...but it's of course impossible if they have to pay with credit card

In a perfect world, that would be the solution. I am sure that CC Bill will ultimately provide this service.
Currently, I am seeing conversions, but the biggest reason for providing mobile is member retention...value added and staying current with the technology that customers expect from the internet.
Fundamentally, mobile is coming at us like a freight train and it is much better to be prepared than scrambling to catch up.
I remember the huge opposition to hd video in the porn world. I decided to be prepared for the future and have been shooting exclusively hd since early 2004 and now have a huge catalogue of videos that still look current...not 4 X 3 ntsc or pal...which frankly is as useful as black and white tv today.

I'm not aware of a single US mobile service provider that allows this. I know it's quite common in much of Europe but not the case here.

i have gone through a lot of really big websites and none of them have this kind of billing. Does anyone know of a website or program that has this?

My sites are already very mobile friendly and convert well. The question was about billing.
