Default Simple message board

Hi, on a paysite we are building we would like to add a very simple message board for members, to let them interact with the models.
We could use any of the many scripts available, but we are having troubles finding one that can let us easily display on the free section of the site a list of the latest messages. You know...people can read latest messages, but if they want to post they need to be logged in the site and visit the forum that is actually inside the members area.
Anyone has any idea?
Thanks a lot!

PHPBB3 would work with the exception that your members area would be protected by a ccbill login. The only other way that I could see doing it would be to put the forums in a seperate directory from the members area, say under forum. Grant access to read only for guests and if they wanted to interact they would have to be a member of the site and you'd have to grant that priviledge manually.

Other option would be to put the script in the members area and export topics as an RSS feed. They wouldn't get full messages but it would be a bit of a teaser to join.

Hit me up on ICQ (701 - 522) if I can help at all.

Chris

The RSS feed thing is a neat idea Suckerpunch. I am with Phpbb since a long time with a forum of my own.. for this project i really would need something less less powerful, similar to the one posted by Somona, although in that case i dont know if i would be able to display messages in another directory.

P.S. The forum protected by CCbill is exactly my idea, that's why i need a way to export topics

Another very good simple piece of software is SMF Forums. You can check it out here...
