Here's a bump on a very old thread... if you've exchanged links you may want to check them. I just discovered that the hardlink exchanges that I did with Kato were changed to "nofollow".

The theory is by using "NOFOLLOW" you reduce the number of outgoing links when Google considers your website for placement. By using a nofollow tag you are basically saying to various search engine spiders that these don't really count.
Of course, anyone who listed his site would do regular linking so he gets the benefit of the incoming link from the various websites that link to him.
