Big favour to ask if you have a minute or two

A few regular visitors to www.glamourimages.net have mailed me saying that the site is running erratically, especially updates. No more info than that even though I have asked them for more details.

I don't see any issues here but that means nothing.

If you have time could you take a visit to the site and tell me if it seems ok, or, you are noticing clear issues (forget the awful frames design etc - I know it needs rebuilding )

Given sales took a radical downturn a few weeks ago maybe this could highlight a possible reason!

edit: after check, i clicked around a bit, i dont notice any errors, or messups at all man. I'm using Google Chrome fyi. Sorry man, i clicked around for a few minutes and no errors whatsoever.

Thanks guys you are real pals for doing that. I think I have found the problem I guess the guy comes to the site at roughly the same time everyday and expects to see the update. Wrong!

No new fangled CMS at Glamour Images (another sad admission ) it's all done by my own fare hand every morning when I have got out of bed. And I ain't setting the alarm to make sure it's done by a certain time every day

Ah ha! There was a problem but you would have had to have been a regular visitor to spot it. One of my surfers sent me some screen grabs which prompted me to research further. Problem found!

GI is on three networked servers to balance the load. I update the master site and the network updates the other two. Normally that is. On 21st July one of the updates in the array failed and no one spotted it. It also locked the site/server. So one of the servers hasn't been updated since 21st July So it would be pot luck which server was dealing with a visit and hence a random 33% ish would get the wrong, old stuff.

No bloody wonder clicks out and sales dropped 30% over night.

Now I am looking forward to the same happening but in reverse i.e. sales going up by 30% overnight. Chance will be a fine thing as they say
