Long rebills

Ok maybe this is a silly question, but some of you know that... i AM a newbie

We recently launched some new micro niche sites (Ex: one is about black pantyhose) and, to spread them a bit, we are thinking to give away some free memberships to our oldest members. Like a week free pass, so that they have a look and, maybe, if they like it they will decide to join for a longer period.

My doubt, as a newbie, is about old members...example: we have a member with us since December 2009 (God bless him)...but... could it be that he just forgot to cancel? And that if we send that free membership...he'll remember and cancel?

I know...silly doubt...but still...
